About Southern Toyota

Lenasians and its’ neighbours know SOUTHERN TOYOTA as a household name. Up and until the end of May 2012 the dealership belonged to Mr Yousuf Ravat for some 30 odd years. During this time Southern Toyota relocated from its very humble beginnings in the Lenasia CBD to the current hub of activity at its state-of-the art premises at the Trade Route Mall.

We are now jointly part of the HALLMARK and MAGIC Group of Companies. The HALLMARK Motor Group has diversified interests in the motor industry throughout South Africa. They own some 50 other varied motor dealerships in and around South Africa. The MAGIC Group is privately owned by Mr Rayhaan Hassim, a previously disadvantaged businessman with his business roots in Tzaneen. The MAGIC Group also owns other motor dealership in and around Gauteng and has a vested interest in AUCOR, South Africa’s largest auction company.

Southern Toyota’s ownership and senior management supports the principles embodied in the Codes of Good Practice of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE), in particular the Governments initiatives towards transforming the Motor Industry as contained in the relevant Sector Charter.

Our objective is to obtain and maintain a high ranking amongst the top empowerment companies in South Africa. 50% of our equity ownership is held by a historically disadvantaged individual and the overwhelming majority of all management are historically disadvantaged individuals. As an approved TOYOTA franchise the company has relevant internal and external reporting structures in place to continually improve and sustain its BBBEE initiatives. Wherever possible, skilled and unskilled workers are employed from the local communities.

What and why are we different from 105 others TOYOTA dealerships – because we are small enough to individualise and personalise CUSTOMER SATISFACTION and big enough to compete out there!
